What to expect

Douglas Fairbanks builds a sequel around inherited identity without simply repeating the original. Whips, balconies, and rapid bodily invention make lineage a performance rather than a guarantee.

How to ease in

Don César is Zorro’s son, not Zorro himself. The murder frame-up provides the main line; enjoy the later arrival of the older hero as reinforcement rather than a replacement protagonist.

Heads-up

A quick, non-exhaustive note Includes sword and whip violence, murder, attempted suicide, political corruption, class hierarchy, and romanticised aristocracy.

César inherits a legend but still has to invent movements that belong to his own predicament. I enjoy the rare sequel that treats a famous name as pressure before it treats it as help.
