Cosa si è conservato
The presumed-lost film is significant as a Douglas Fairbanks drama made before his swashbuckling image fully defined him. Its page documents an absent work rather than pretending ordinary access.

Approach this as a lost-film record. Surviving reviews and production evidence can establish its place in Fairbanks’s career, but they cannot replace the missing performance. AFI credits Albert Parker as director and notes that later sources also credit Douglas Fairbanks. The Library of Congress includes Arizona in its lost-film list dated 4 February 2021; that dated listing does not establish whether material has since surfaced.

A missing film leaves us with a career shape but not the movement that made the star. I would rather mark that absence clearly than turn documentation into an imaginary screening.
