Cosa aspettarsi
Made after Fantômas, Les Vampires, and Judex, Barrabas extends Feuillade’s interest in networks of power whose reach is revealed episode by episode.
Come avvicinarsi al film
Do not compress the serial mentally into an ordinary feature. Repetition and delayed knowledge are part of how the conspiracy grows larger than any one character’s view.
Da sapere
Una breve nota non esaustiva Includes criminal violence, imprisonment, threats, death, and a serial-scale duration that depends on presentation and episode arrangement.

A conspiracy becomes frightening when it no longer needs one visible villain in every room. I like how the serial form lets influence arrive before explanation.
