Was dich erwartet

The film belongs to the useful prehistory of Feuillade’s style, when social roles, entrances, and a compact dramatic premise had to establish a world quickly.

Tipps für den Einstieg

Approach it as an early short rather than looking for the elaborate plotting of Fantômas or Judex. Give attention to blocking, costume, and who controls each encounter.

A later reputation can make an early film look like a clue. I try to resist hunting only for the future and watch the small drama that was already complete for its first audience.
