Was dich erwartet
George Cukor gives three stars room to challenge one another without reducing the heroine to a prize. The comedy keeps asking whether admiration can survive contact with an imperfect person.
Tipps für den Einstieg
The opening social arrangements matter more than the names. Notice who is allowed to judge Tracy, then watch that privilege move from person to person.

I like that the film’s grand house cannot protect anyone from being seen badly. Its funniest moments often begin when dignity slips and a more generous view becomes possible.
